Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you begin — about therapy, our platform, privacy, and what to expect for your child.

Our Services

We support children aged 3–17, from pre-schoolers showing early signs of sensory sensitivity to teenagers navigating identity, anxiety, and neurodivergent challenges. Parent-only guidance sessions are also available for those who want support without involving their child directly.

Our network of psychologists and therapists specialises in ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, school refusal, sensory processing differences, developmental delays, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), and co-occurring conditions.

All sessions take place through our secure, encrypted in-platform video room. This means no travel, no waiting rooms, and therapy available from the comfort of your home — anywhere in the world.

Simply click "Book a Session," share a few details about your child and your goals, and our platform will match you with the most suitable specialist. You can browse availability and confirm your first appointment in minutes.

About Therapy

Some common signs include: persistent emotional outbursts or meltdowns, significant difficulty at school or with friends, sleep problems, extreme rigidity or demand avoidance, or a general sense that your child is struggling in a way affecting family life. If you are uncertain, a consultation session can help clarify the right next step.

The first session is an intake conversation — a chance for the specialist to get to know your child (and you) without pressure. There are no formal assessments or tasks. It is about building trust and understanding the full picture before any therapeutic work begins.

This varies depending on your child's needs and goals. Some families see meaningful progress after 6–8 sessions. Others benefit from longer-term support. Your specialist will discuss a recommended plan after the intake session and review it regularly with you.

Our specialists draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), play therapy, PDA-informed practice, Theraplay, and neurodiversity-affirming frameworks. Every plan is tailored — there is no one-size-fits-all approach here.

For Parents

Keep it simple and honest. Let them know they will be talking (or playing) with someone whose job is to understand children. Avoid framing it as being about a "problem." You know your child best — if they respond well to curiosity, focus on that. If they need reassurance, offer it warmly.

Yes — parental involvement is often one of the most impactful parts of the process. Most specialists offer parent feedback sessions alongside child sessions. For younger children, parents are frequently part of the sessions directly.

This is more common than many parents realise, especially in children with PDA, anxiety, or prior negative experiences with professionals. Many of our specialists are experienced in working with demand-avoidant children and can advise on how to approach this gently. A parent-only session to plan the approach is often a good first step.

🔒

Privacy & Safety

Yes. What your child shares in sessions is held in confidence. The exception is if a specialist believes your child is at risk of harm — in which case appropriate safeguarding steps must be taken by law. Your specialist will explain this clearly to your child at the start of their first session.

All sessions take place inside our encrypted platform. No session content is recorded or shared outside the therapeutic relationship. We comply fully with GDPR and applicable data protection laws. You can review our full Privacy Policy for complete details.

🧠

Assessments & Diagnosis

Formal diagnostic assessments require a separate, structured process that our platform does not currently offer directly. However, many of our specialists can work alongside existing diagnoses, support families awaiting assessment, and provide detailed written reports to support a referral.

Yes. With your written consent, our specialists can liaise with your child's school SENCO, GP, or CAMHS team to ensure a joined-up approach. Many families find this particularly valuable when advocating for EHCP support or school adaptations.

💷

Pricing & Practical

Session fees vary by specialist and session type. Prices are clearly shown on each specialist's profile before you book — there are no hidden charges. We regularly review our pricing to remain as accessible as possible to families.

We are actively working toward partnerships with funding bodies and insurance providers. Some specialists on our platform offer reduced fees for families experiencing financial hardship — this can be discussed directly and confidentially during your intake session.
